| Master Gardeners in the New River Valley (of southwestern Virginia) raised over 850 pounds of produce for 2001. Attached is a photo of participants planting the plot in the Master Gardener community gardens demonstration plot in Blacksburg this past spring. As you can see, some are working harder than others. |

| Esther Schmidt, resident at Martha & Mary Health Center in Poulsbo, Washington, is an avid participant in the facility's Horticulture Therapy program. The resident gardeners were the first members of their community to sign up for the PAR program at the local Fishline food bank. Their contributions of fresh veggies help keep the community's PAR total climbing. |
