¹Photo submissions from a single work must be grouped as a single entry (i.e. all photos from an article, book, etc.)

²A photographer’s portfolio must consist of a minimum of three up to a maximum of 10 garden photographs published in 2011. Each photograph must include a tearsheet showing where and when it was published.  A total of two printed photographs must be submitted.  Electronic versions will not be eligible.

³Please submit clips of three appearances for regularly scheduled TV or radio work edited to provide a representative sample (not more than 10 minutes per clip). All commercials MUST be edited from the DVD submitted, unless commercials relate to the program content. Exception: submit entire program if it is a special.

⁴To win an award in this category, entries must qualify for an award in all of the following (if applicable): writing, photography, illustration and graphic design. This category is open only to publishers, producers, packagers or others who are solely responsible for the overall product. If the entry is not outstanding in all categories, publisher/producers/packagers are urged to enter their artists for the best portions of the work (i.e. writing, photography, etc.).

⁵Communications that promote products and garden industry messages to media/journalists, consumers or the garden industry are eligible. The judges will take into consideration all aspects of the entry. Awards will be granted for the overall product only. Please attach a brief description to your entry form that indicates project creator, the client, the target audience, the project’s objectives, results and budget, if relevant.

⁶Electronic Media consists of websites, blogs, garden software, other computer-related materials, television and radio shows. All entries (except for websites and blogs) must be received in duplicate on a CD-rom or DVD. Entrants in Category 1 for Website Writing should submit only one complete article that is original work created for the website. Entrants in Category 1 for Blog Writing should submit three printed blog posts of your choice. Overall Product website entrants must submit 3-10 sample printed pages for backup and reference. For Television or Radio entries, please specify your role (producer, director, etc.) on the entry form and include clips from three shows (not more than 10 minutes per clip). All commercials MUST be edited from the submitted CD Audio file, unless commercials relate to the program content. Exception: submit entire program if it is a special. If submitting a TV/Video or Radio program for Category 1 and/or 6, please include two copies of a sample script.
